FlippyDrive Is An Exciting New Disk Emulator For The Nintendo GameCube

This is nice and all, but I do not like the idea of the circuit boards and wiring being easily exposed to the elements whenever you open the disk drive. Just one droplet of liquid would be enough to fry the GC. I know I'm being paranoid, but I don't want to risk it.

If this is easy enough for me to install I might just pick up a second GameCube and try it out. I have a fairly extensive GCN collection including some of the rarer/valuable titles like Fire Emblem PoR, Cubivore, Custom Robo, and MGS Twin Snakes among others. I’d rather not risk damaging these disks over time. No to mention if/when the disk drive eventually dies it’s nice to know id still have a way to play these as well as all the other GCN classics

This is cool for people who only have a Gamecube I guess but it's so much easier to homebrew a Wii to allow backups since it can be done entirely in software, plus you get extra benefits like being able to force GC games to run overclocked to the Wii's native CPU/GPU speeds which eliminates slowdown in a bunch of games, plus you have the entire Wii library available as well, seems like you'd be better off just picking up a second hand Wii instead.

@qaopjlll that and the fact that it’s ridiculously easy to mod a Wii to have access to the entire Virtual Console library too. Makes it a hell of a decent (and cheap) multi console retro machine!

@Ninfan They won't sell it with the games already on it you would have to rep the games yourself or download them from somewhere and store them on your own SD card or computer as the wifi will mean you can stream them locally.

@Ninfan there are plenty of places that do legit ones you just have to search. You obviously just came across sites that try to unload as much malware as possible as it gives them cheaper places to store the stuff.
